Seniors Jay Horrey and Ian Sequeira each earned singles victories Sunday in the Little Giants' opening spring break match against Howard Payne University. Wabash lost its first of five matches in Orlando, Florida 7-2.
Horrey (left) defeated Chris Sutton in straight sets at number one singles 6-3, 6-4. Sequeira (right) fought back after losing 2-6 in the first set of his number five singles match against Nate Alger to win the last two sets 7-6 (10-4), 10-7.
Horrey is now one win away from tying Mark Ratner '00 for the career singles victories record at Wabash. Ratner won 63 matches as a member of the Little Giant tennis program.
Wabash continues its week of play in Orlando Tuesday against Vassar and the College of New Jersey.
