Wabash Drops Conference Match to Wittenberg

The Wabash College tennis team opened play in the North Coast Athletic Conference Western Division on Saturday against the Wittenberg University Tigers. The Little Giants nearly captured two doubles matches and battled at number three singles before losing 7-0 to the Tigers.

Nathan Cain (Columbus, IN/Columbus North) and Cameron Starnes (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) played a back-and-forth match at number two doubles before falling 9-7. Paul Drambarean (Attica, IN/Attica) and Aaron Miller (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) led in the early portion of the number three doubles match before eventually losing 8-5.

Cain came back from a 6-3 first set at number three singles before losing 7-5 in the second set.

Wabash falls to 2-8 overall, 0-1 in the NCAC West. The Little Giants will travel to Greencastle, Indiana to play DePauw University on Wednesday, April 2 at 4 p.m.
