Banach Takes First in Javelin at Wash U.

Brent Banach (right) won the javelin at Friday's Washington University - St. Louis Mini-Meet. The Wabash senior won the event with a throw of 155 feet 7 inches (47.43 meters) to earn the top spot.

Senior Hugh Jackson grabbed second place in the 1500-meter run, crossing the finish line in 4:01.42. Wes Chamblee also captured second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.07. Teammate Emmanuel Aouad was seventh (57.21). Aouad added a fifth place finish in the 110-meter hurdles (15.35), as well.

Alex Moseman finished fourth in the hammer throw with his best mark of 48.24 meters (158 feet 3 inches). Kevin McCarthy took fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.90. Devin Kelley was sixth in the discus (40.44 meters; 132 feet 8 inches), while Matt Scheller finished seventh in the shot put (12.79 meters; 41 feet 11-1/2 inches). Sam Compton-Craig grabbed the seventh spot in the steeplechase (10:27.15). Seth Einterz took sixth place in the 5000-meter run (15:21.85), with McCarthy right behind in seventh place (15:24.40). Micah Milliman was 10th (15:29.83).

Spencer Sheridan, Sam Glowinski, and Mike Russell gave Wabash three more top-ten finishes. Sheridan finished ninth in the 800 (1:55.90). Glowinski was eighth in the pole vault (3.45 meters; 11 feet 3-3/4 inches), while Russell crossed in 10th place in the 200 (23.12).

Wabash will compete at the DePauw Outdoor Invitational this Saturday.
