May 1 Reminder from the Dean of Admissions

Choosing the right school is a major decision that requires much preparation and reflection. After all of the research, mailings, emails, calls, and visits, you find yourself nearing the end of your college search.

As you may know, admission to Wabash College was especially competitive this year. Over 1400 applications were received for an entering class of 250 new students. For that reason I write to remind you of the May 1 candidate reply date. This means that your reply form and enrollment deposit of $250 must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2011. Your place in the class will be reserved until then. Beyond that date, I cannot guarantee that there will be space available.

You may also pay your deposit on-line, but will first need to contact the Admissions Office to retrieve your student account information. Send an email to admissions@wabash.edu or give us a call at 800-345-5385. This transaction must be also completed by May 1.

I also write to offer our assistance. Do you have any remaining questions about Wabash College? Have you met with alumni, faculty, financial aid staff or students who can share a part of Wabash that is most relevant to your interests and concerns? Perhaps another visit would be helpful.

If you need assistance with financing, the Financial Aid Office is available to help. Sign up for a financing appointment today to complete all your financing needs for the 2011-2012 academic year. Appointments can be conducted by phone, or in person at Trippet Hall. You can complete your student’s loan and Employment Self-Help paperwork, if needed, during this session.

Do not hesitate to contact me or your counselor as you conclude your college search. I wish you the best of luck and hope to see you as part of the Wabash Class of 2015.

Sincerely,

Steven J. Klein
Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid
