Lifehouse, a California rock band, will bring their music to Chadwick Court Saturday night. Lifehouse gained national prominence in 2001 with their single "Hanging by a Moment."
The song garnered the band a Billboard Music Award for No. 1 single of 2001. Billboard reported "Hanging by a Moment" as the most-played radio single in America that year.
The group has released two albums since that initial big hit. Its latest is 2007's "Who We Are." That album generated two Top 40 hits - "First Time" and "Whatever It Takes." The four-man group is fronted by vocalist Jason Wade.
Tickets are available each day this week in the Allen Center Lobby from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Wabash students must have their identification card to pick up their free tickets. Tickets for non-Wabash students and the general public are available for $20. Tickets will be sold the night of the performance.
"Throughout the academic year, the SCAC hosts events for the sole purpose of entertaining the students of Wabash," Student Senate President Mark Thomas said. "For the past couple of years, this committee has chosen National Act concerts to play during the Spring semester. Some past bands include Hootie and the Blowfish and Third Eye Blind. This year is no exception. Lifehouse has continued to top many charts throughout their tenure. All are welcome to come and enjoy the concert."
Doors open at 7 p.m. Saturday with Wabash senior Rich Lehmann performing at 8 p.m. There will be an opening act at 8:30 with Lifehouse taking the stage around 9 p.m.
After Saturday's performance, the band continues its 2009 tour with a June 6 date in Myrtle Beach and then a June 13 performance in Phoenix, Arizona.
