The Little Giant golf team is tied for sixth place with the College of Wooster after the first round of the 2009 Wabash Invitational. The two-day match, part of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship Series, is being held at The Trophy Club Golf Course in Lebanon, Indiana.
The Little Giants tallied a total of 317 strokes, led by a 75 from senior Jordan Vice. Jordan Koch added a 79, while Drew Palmer (80) and Charlie Kelly (83) completed the team scoring.
The Wabash "B" team enters Sunday's final round in eighth place after shooting a 328. Luke Moton fired an 80 for the top round for the second group of Little Giant players. Kyle Nagdeman shot an 81, while Jake German finished with an 83. Ben Foster scored an 84 to complete the team scoring.
Ohio Wesleyan's Jesse Chiero and DePauw's Ronnie Harris posted the top rounds of the day. The two are tied for medalist honors after finishing one-under par with 71s.
The tournament concludes Sunday with tee times scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
