Little Giant Netters Fall on Short End of 5-4 Decision at Franklin

The Wabash College tennis team came up on the short end of a 5-4 final score in Tuesday's tennis match against Franklin College.

The match was close the entire way. Four of the six singles matches went to three sets to determine a winner. The Little Giants captured three points in singles play and won the number two doubles point. Nathan Cain (Columbus, IN/Columbus North) and Cameron Starnes (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville) dominated in an 8-2 victory at two doubles. Starnes also took a commanding 6-1, 6-0 win at number four singles.

Senior Scott Paramoure (New Brownfels, TX/New Brownfels) dropped the first set 6-7 at number one singles before roaring back to take a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Fellow senior Andrew Shelton (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) also went to three set to claim a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win at number two singles.

Wabash falls to 2-11 with the loss. The Little Giants will participate in the annual Great Lakes Colleges Association Tennis Tournament to be held April 10-12 at Hope College in Holland, Michigan.
