Linksters Take Fifth at Nye Intercollegiate

Jordan Vice tied for fifth place, guiding Wabash to a fifth-place finish at the 2009 Nye Intercollegiate Golf Invitational in Wooster, Ohio.

Vice followed an 81 in the opening round with a 78 on Sunday to finish with a score of 159 strokes for the tournament. Charlie Kelly tied for 12th place with 164 strokes (83-81), while Sam Russell tied for 24th (84-85--169). Jordan Koch completed the team scoring with a 171 (82-89) to finish 29th.

The Little Giants tallied a total of 662 strokes in the two-day competition. Wabash was in third place after the first day with 330 strokes, but fell two places to fifth in the nine-team event with 332 strokes on Sunday.

Wabash will compete at the 2009 North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship May 2-3 at the Meadville Country Club in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Allegheny College will serve as the host school for the final match of the NCAC Golf Championship Series.
