Saturday's game-winning goal by sophomore Femi Oluyedun not only gave Wabash a 2-1 victory over Wooster, it earned the Little Giant forward the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week Award for the period ending September 19.
Oluyedun broke a 1-1 tie with an acrobatic shot in front of the net off a deflection by a Wooster defender to give the Little Giants their first 1-0 start in NCAC play since since recording a 2-1 win in 2005 at Kenyon to start the league portion of the season at 1-0 and was the first home conference win since a 3-1 victory over Hiram in 2006.
Oluyedun's goal came with 2:31 left in the second overtime. It was his second goal of the season. Wabash was 1-0-1 for the week, with both matches going to double overtime. The Little Giants tied DePauw 2-2 on Wednesday afternoon.
