Red Pack Picked Fourth in Conference Poll

The Wabash College cross country team was picked to finish fourth in the North Coast Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll. Wabash received 70 points,nine points behind third-place Denison. Allegheny,the defending conference champion,received nine of the ten first-place votes for a total of 99 points.

Wabash finished fourth at the 2001 conference championship race. Senior Dan Ruge (Chesteron,IN/Chesterton) (photo) earned Second Team All-Conference honors last season with a 12th-place finish at the NCAC Championships.

The Red Pack opens the 2003 season with the annual Alumni Run on Saturday, August 30 at 9 a.m. at Huntsman Track. The official season opener will take place one week later when the Little Giants host the annual Wabash Hokum Karem on Saturday, September 6. The men's race will start at 10:30 a.m.
