"Our guys went out there and they attacked," Wabash head coach Brian Anderson said. "We learned you have to put more than just one good attack on an opponent to get a score out of it. That's why we wrestle a team like IU. The lessons we learn competing against them carry over to the rest of the season."
Sophomore Greg Rhoads gave his best effort to provide an upset against IU's Eric Cameron in the 184-pound weight class. Rhoads stayed close throughout the match before Cameron eventually came away with the 7-4 victory. Senior Michael Burke got to within a point of Hoosier wrestler Matt Powless late in their 197-pound bout. Powless held on to post a 9-5 victory.
Freshman Jake Strausbaugh lost 8-1 to Dan Monaco at 141 pounds.
Wabash falls to 4-2 with the loss in dual meets for the season. The Little Giants will compete in the Concordia Open in Mequon, Wisconsin this Saturday.
