Red Pack Runs to Sixth-Place Finish at Indiana Intercollegiates

Senior Dan Ruge (Chesterton, IN/Chesterton) trimmed over a minute off of his final time last week, finishing 18th in the final individual results at the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships on Friday. Wabash picked up two spots from last year's finish in the team standing, finishing sixth out of 17 teams.

Ruge toured the 8,000-meter course in Terre Haute, Indiana in 26:37, 1:03 faster than the 27:39 he ran last week at Earlham in the Great Lakes Colleges Association Championship race. Freshman Dennis Frazee (Griffith, IN/Calumet) was 42nd out of 138 runners with a time of 27:42. Charles Wohlhuter (Wheaton, IL/Wheaton-Warrenville South) was 43rd (27:44), and senior Dan Sweet (West Bloomfield, MI/Culver Military Academy) was 58th (28:15).

Freshman Dustin Beck (New Carlisle, IN/New Prairie) rounded out the scoring for the Little Giants, finishing in 28:23 for 65th place.

Wabash scored 226 points to tie with Taylor University. The University of Southern Indiana won the meed with 42 points. The University of Indianapolis finished second (77 points), while DePauw University (97 points), Indiana Wesleyan (148 points), and Anderson University (158 points) rounded out the top-five team results.

Wabash returns to action on Friday, October 3 at the Notre Dame Invitional.
