Soccer Falls 3-1 to Ohio Wesleyan in Homecoming Contest

Cody LawsonSenior Cody Lawson (Carmel, IN/Carmel) scored in the 84th minute for Wabash College, but it would not be enough as the Little Giants lost to Ohio Wesleyan University 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. The game was part of the annual Wabash Homecoming activities.

Lawson's goal, his second of the season, made it a 2-1 contest in favor of Ohio Wesleyan after the Battling Bishops had scored earlier goals off the foot of Ryan Martin. OWU added a final goal with less than three minutes left in the match to earn the win.

Sophomore Jeff Diebel (Ft. Wayne, IN/Homestead) led Wabash with two shots on goal. The Little Giants finished the contest with nine shot attempts. Will McAdams (Carmel, IN/Carmel) had four saves in the goal for Wabash.

The loss sends Wabash to 6-7 for the season, 1-3 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. It also snapped a three-game winning streak. The Little Giants will try to get back on the winning path next Saturday when they travel to Gambier, Ohio for a conference contest against Kenyon College.
