Little Giants Outslug LeTourneau 23-11

Joe Johnson, Tanner Coggins, and David Seibel each had four hits, while Johnson, Seibel and Montana Timmons accounted for four RBI each in Wabash's 23-11 win at LeTourneau Tuesday afternoon.  For photos from the game, click here.

The Little Giants pounded out 25 hits, including home runs from Johnson, Coggins, and Timmons. Coggins (left) and Johnson each added two doubles, while PJ Tyson and John Holm each hit triples in the game.

Wabash fell behind 1-0 in the first inning before scoring four runs in the top of the second. A four-run second inning came ahead of five runs in the fifth and six in the sixth to break the game wide open.

Johnson finished the day 4-for-5 with four RBI to go with an intentional walk. Coggins was 4-for-6 with two RBI and three runs scored. Seibel's 4-for-6 effort came with four RBI and three runs scored. Holm went 3-for-5 while scoring four times. Timmons added a 3-for-5 effort and scored four runs with four RBI.

Eric Foust picked up his first victory of the season, working five innings while allowing seven hits and six earned runs with three strikeouts. Pete Schmith, Chris Widup, Brian Van Duyn, and Luke Zinsmaster combined for four innings of work while scattering eight hits and two walks. The foursome had seven strikeouts, paced by Van Duyn's three strikeout effort in the eighth.

Wabash continues the Texas portion of its spring break trip Wednesday with a single nine-inning game at the University of Texas-Dallas beginning at 2 p.m.
