Wabash Ends Spring Tennis Trip With Split

Wabash completed its spring break tennis trip with a split of matches against the University of Rochester and Ursinus College. The Little Giant swept Ursinus 9-0 after losing 6-3 to Rochester.

Evan Bayless scored the only singles victory for Wabash against Rochester, earning a 6-0, 6-3 win at number six singles. Ricky Ritter and Lewis Towne combined for an 8-4 win at number two doubles. Iaon Leonard and Zach Lowry picked up an 8-4 win at number three doubles. Wabash was three points away from earning a 5-4 victory but could not put away the Rochester squad.

Lowry went three sets before picking up a a 6-0, 5-7, 6-1 victory at number one singles against Ursinus. Peter Gunderman won 6-1, 6-1 at number two singles. Ritter won by an injury default at number three singles. Deway posted a 7-6 (5), 6-4 victory in the fourth flight of singles play. Leonard picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at number five singles, while Towne completed the singles sweep with a 6-3, 6-1 win in the sixth flight.

Gunderman and Leonard combined for an 8-1 win at number one doubles. Bayless and Dewey scored an 8-1 win at number two doubles. Ritter and Towne were 8-0 winners at number three doubles.

Wabash finished 3-2 overall for the spring trip. The Little Giants (8-5) return to action at Rose-Hulman on Wednesday, March 17.
