Wabash sophomore Lewis Towne received the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week Award for the period ending March 21, 2010.
Towne scored two straight-set singles victories in key matches for the Little Giants on the tennis courts last week. He picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win over Seth Hendrickson from Rose-Hulman to help Wabash to a 6-3 win on Wednesday, then followed with a 6-1, 6-5 victory against Nick Cantor from Lake Forest on the way to a 6-3 team win for Wabash Saturday afternoon.
Towne joined Ricky Ritter for three wins in doubles play during the week, as well. The duo were 8-4 and 8-5 winners at number three doubles against Rose and Lake Forest. Towne and Ritter moved to number two doubles in the Little Giants' 9-0 victory over Manchester Saturday morning, defeating Piero Ridoutt and Dustin Schutte 8-0. Towne and Ritter improved to 9-0 for the season as doubles partners this season.
