The Wabash soccer team needed a win over Allegheny to stay in the hunt for a spot on the North Coast Athletic Conference post-season tournament. But the Gators scored two first half goals on the way to a 3-0 victory over the Little Giants.
Wabash had eight shots and four shots on goal in the match. Colin Smith (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville) led the Little Giants with two shots at the net. Goalkeeper Will McAdams (Carmel, IN/Carmel) turned aside eight Allegheny shots.
The Gators scored in the 19th minute on a rebound shot, then added the second goal in the 25th minute. A final goal at 59:06 gave the Gators their 11th win of the season.
Wabash falls to 7-8-1 with the loss, 2-4-1 in the NCAC. The Little Giants travel to Earlham College on Wednesday.
