Waterman, Chamblee Dominate at DI Meet

Freshman All-American Jake Waterman and junior Wes Chamblee had no trouble competing Saturday afternoon against Division I athletes at the 2010 Dave Rankin Track and Field Invitational at Purdue University.

Waterman (left) posted his fastest time of the season to win the 800-meter run, finishing the race in 1:52.66. Purdue's Jacob Palmer finished second with a time of 1:52.81, while Declan Murray from Loyola of Illinois took third (1:53.15).

Chamblee (right) took third in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line with his best time of year at 48.98. Hillsdale's Jared Krout won the race with a time of 48.23, while Edward Hitchler from Notre Dame was second (48:40). Chamblee's time in the 400 came less than 24 hours after he set a new record at Cook Stadium in the 400-meter hurdles (53.02) at the 2010 Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet.
