Holm, Pennington Named to NCAC All-Tourney Team

Sophomores John Holm and John Pennington have been named to the 2010 North Coast Athletic Conference Baseball All-Tournament team. 

Holm, a first baseman, hit .583 in the Little Giants' three tourney games. He hit four home runs, including three against Allegheny College in the first elimination game to help Wabash to an 11-5 victory. Holm (right) hit a two-run shot against Wooster in the Little Giants' opening game to set the new Wabash single season record. He finished the 2010 season with a total of 15 home runs, 51 RBI, and 112 total bases to set new school records in each category.

Pennington, the Little Giants' starting shortstop, went 9-of-15 from the plate (.600) to lead Wabash offensively during its tournament run. He had three doubles and five RBI, including a three-run double against Allegheny. Pennington (left) tied for the Wabash regular season lead in hits, collection 56 in 42 games. His 10 doubles were second-best on the team.

Wabash lost to third-ranked Wooster 11-6 in the opening round of the tourney, held in Chillicothe, Ohio April 29-May 1. The Little Giants defeated Allegheny 11-5 in the first elimination round, but lost 7-1 to Denison in the next round.
