Another Record-Setting Day for Knox

Earlier this season, freshman pole vaulter Matthew Knox shattered the school record in his event. Knox topped his own mark this week in the final regular season meet at the Gregory Invitational at North Central College.

Knox cleared 4.68 meters (15 feet, 4-1/2 inches) to break his old mark of 4.63 meters (15 feet, 2-1/4 inches) set at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet. Knox just missed the NCAA Championship provisional qualifying mark of 4.70.

A handful of Wabash athletes took advantage of the final opportunity to possibly improve their national qualifying times, but none were able to top their best performances of the year. Emmanuel Aouad had the best effort of the day, finishing third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.79 in the finals after posting a 14.64 in the preliminary heat.

Next up for the Little Giants is the NCAA Division III National Championship Meet, which will take place May 27-29 at Tressel Field on the campus of Baldwin-Wallace College.
