Sophomore designated hitter John Holm has been named to the 2010 American Baseball Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region Second Team.
Holm, a First Team All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection as a sophomore designated hitter, rewrote the Wabash single season record book as designated hitter, setting new marks in home runs with a conference-best 15. His 51 RBI also set a new Wabash record and placed him third among NCAC players. His 112 total bases were third-best in the conference and easily surpassed the old Wabash single season record of 98. Holm was also third in the conference in slugging percentage with a mark of .747. He was sixth in the NCAC in walks per game, averaging .45 free passes in 42 contests. He scored a total of 43 runs, seventh-best in the NCAC.
Holm, a graduate of Naperville Central High School in Illinois, ranks 10th in Division III in home runs and 16th in home runs per game with an average of 0.36. He is also among the top-70 players in the nation in slugging percentage and total bases.
