Monon Bell Broadcast to Be Carried in Indiana on WFYI

The 110th Monon Bell Classic football game between Wabash College and DePauw University will be broadcast throughout central Indiana on Indianapolis PBS affiliate WFYI-TV, Channel 20. HDNet, the first all high definition national television network, will produce and broadcast the game nationally. The broadcast of the "Longest Continuous Small College Football Rivalry West of the Alleghenies" is set to begin at 1 p.m. (EST). The series record is even at 50-50-9.

WFYI has carried the Monon Bell broadcast for several seasons, including last year’s 35-7 victory by Wabash in Crawfordsville. The station is carried on cable television outlets throughout much of the state of Indiana. WFYI can be found on Channel 12 by subscribers to Insight Communications cable services in Crawfordsville.

The game is also available to a national audience on HDNet, which already provides high definition broadcasts of National Hockey League and Major League Soccer games. Viewers will need an HD satellite receiver and high definition television set to view the game in their homes. Alumni from both schools will gather to watch the game in over 30 broadcast party sites throughout the nation.
