NPR Names Perkins '89 a Vice President

June 3, 2010; Washington, D.C. – NPR has appointed Jeff Perkins, Managing Partner at Huntbridge, Inc., as its Vice President and Chief People Officer. In this senior management role, Perkins will lead the development of NPR's human resources, talent management strategy, and will play a central role cultivating a constructive, supportive and effective corporate culture. Perkins will join NPR on July 6, 2010, reporting to SVP of Strategic Operations and Finance Debra Delman, and working closely with NPR’s senior leadership group.

Perkins adds, “NPR is a natural fit for me: a world-class media outlet bringing information, news, music and viewpoints about an endless variety of topics to audiences both on-air and online. I look forward to working with this very talented team of people in a city I have long called home.”

Perkins comes to NPR from Huntbridge, Inc., a human resource and consulting firm he founded. Before founding Huntbridge, Perkins held several prominent positions in media companies. He was SVP at Fox Interactive Media, a division of News Corporation, where he led a team of 65 and oversaw the hiring and on-boarding of more than 1000 employees in 26 countries and 11 businesses. Previously, Perkins held several highly visible positions with AOL Time Warner, including Director of Human Resources for AOL International; VP of Human Resources for AOL, CompuServe and Netscape; and SVP of Human Resources for AOL Europe. Prior to AOL, Perkins served as Manager of Staffing - North America for AC Nielsen, and later he became Director of Human Resources for Nielsen International in Europe.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Wabash College and a Master of Science degree in Organization Development from the School of Public Policy at The American University.
