Wabash swimmers David Birrer ’11, Evan Rhinesmith ’11, and Eric Vaughn ’11 have been honored by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. Birrer and Rhinesmith were named to the CSCAA All-Academic team, while Vaughn was an honorable mention selection.
Birrer and Rhinesmith earned All-Academic Team honors by having a 3.5 or higher grade point average while also competing at the 2010 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Both athletes grabbed top-20 finishes at the national meet.
Vaughn also carried a 3.5 GPA and earned "B" cut times in four different events for the NCAA championship meet.
"These awards show the determination and dediciation David, Evan, and Eric have shown in every area," Wabash head swimming coach Steve Barnes said. "All three have made sacrifices and have worked hard day in and day out to excel. It shows that if you are willing to work hard, you can accomplish anything."
