Noted author Patrick Madden will spend three days on campus beginning Monday as a McGregor Visiting Artist. He will be conducting workshops with creative writing students and give a public reading.
The public reading will be noon, Tuesday, in Baxter 101. Lunch will be provided
Madden teaches creative nonfiction at Brigham Young University. He has been published in the Iowa Review, Portland Magazine, Fourth Genre, Hotel Amerika, and other journals, as well as in the Best Creative Nonfiction and Best American Spiritual Writing anthologies.
His book Quotidiana was published last spring. Books will be on sale during the Tuesday public reading.
His writing covers such subjects as music (Zepplin, Rush, Beatles), Montevideo, Laughter, doppelgangers, and garlic. He is also an avid translator and a friend of Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano. Patrick Madden served as a Fulbright fellow in Uruguay from 2002-2003.
