Matt Scheller earned his third North Coast Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week Award this season, picking up the honor once again after his performance at Saturday's Huntsman Relays.
Scheller set a new meet record in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.80 meters (166 feet, 8 inches) to eclipse the old mark of 46.76 meters set by Lucas Beach of Huntington College in 2007. Scheller and teammate Alex Moseman combined to win the hammer throw relay with a total distance of 95.42 meters (331 feet, 1 inch).
Scheller posted the top mark in the shot put with a distance of 14.38 meters (47 feet, 2.25 inches). He and Brad Pusateri won the shot put relay with a total distance of 27.68 meters (90 feet, 10 inches). Scheller also competed in the javelin throw, finishing fourth overall with a toss of 36.87 meters (120 feet, 11 inches).
