Wabash junior Andrew Swart has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the period ending March 27, 2011.
Swart earned the award after working nine innings on the mound for the Wabash baseball team in two appearances last week. He threw two innings of scoreless baseball against Division I Purdue University on Wednesday, recording four strike outs while allowing only one hit. Swart pitched a complete game victory in the Little Giants' 5-2 win over Wooster in the team's NCAC opener. He tallied a season-best nine strikeouts over seven innings, giving up only three hits and one earned run with three walks. Swart retired 23 of the 27 batters he faced to improve to 3-2 for the season.
