Social policy consultant Star Parker will speak tonight at 8 p.m. in Baxter 101. Parker is a frequent pundit on CNN, Fox News,CNBC, and other media outlets. Her appearance is sponsored by the Wabash Conservative Union.
Parker is the founder and president of CURE, the Center for Urban Renewal & Education, a 501(c)3 non-profit think tank that provides a national voice of reason on issues of race and poverty in the media, inner city neighborhoods, and public policy.
She ran for a seat in Congress in 2010 and earned the nomination but did not pick up the seat in the general election.
Her evening talk is titled "On Culture and School Choice in the Urban Setting."
