Wabash Invites Community to Showing of Classic Movies


Crawfordsville, Ind.—All members of the community are invited to attend screenings of classic films shown every Wednesday afternoon of the fall semester. The movies will begin at 2:10 p.m. in Korb Classroom of the Fine Arts Center. The screenings are free and open to the public.

The following is a list of scheduled movies:

September 11: SUNRISE, 1927, dir. F.W. Murnau;

September 18: BATTLESHIP POTEMKIN, 1925, dir. Sergei Eisenstein;

September 25: SHERLOCK, JR., 1924, dir. Buster Keaton and CITY LIGHTS, 1931, dir. Charlie Chaplin;

October 2: A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, 1935, dir. Sam Wood;

October 9: THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD, 1938, dir. Michael Curtiz;

October 16: DOUBLE INDEMNITY, 1944, dir. Billy Wilder;

October 23: VISIONS OF LIGHT: THE ART OF CINEMATOGRAPHY, 1993, AFI;

October 30: CITIZEN KANE, 1941, dir. Orson Welles;

November 6: THE SEARCHERS, 1956, dir. John Ford;

November 13: VERTIGO, 1958, dir. Alfred Hitchcock;

November 20: THE BICYCLE THIEF, 1949, dir. Vittorio De Sica;

December 4: SEVEN SAMURAI, 1954, dir. Akira Kurosawa;

December 11: THE GRADUATE, 1967, dir. Mike Nichols.
