Starr, McConnell Recognized for Roles as Class Agents

Bill Starr ’37 addresses his fellow Class Agents after earning the Warren Shearer Award for excellence.
Over 50 class agents returned to campus on September 13-14 for the return of the Class Agent Forum.

Class Agents are selected during their senior year at Wabash and serve as chief communicators to their classmates after graduation.

At this year's Class Agents Forum dinner, two men were honored for their excellence and service to the College and to their classes.

Bill Starr, Class Agent for the Class of 1937 was recognized as the Warren Shearer Award winner, while Tom McConnell '41 was the recipient of the Myron Phillips Award.

Both awards recognize outstanding performance by a class agent.

The Class Agents heard reports from President Ford and Campaign for Leadership Chairman Tom Hays ’55. In addition, Agents discussed reunion planning, electronic communication, and a more regular schedule for Class Agent letters.

Jon Pactor '71, JB Bachman '61, and Hugh Vandivier '91, all members of the executive committee of the Society of Wabash Class Agents, served as the planning committee for the Forum.
