The Wabash College Community will celebrate 40 years of service provided by the members of the Malcolm X Institute of Black Studies. The 40th Anniversary Celebration will take place from Friday, September 16 through Sunday, September 18, 2011.
Celebration highlights include:
· An update on Wabash from President Pat White and others
· An opportunity to meet the new MXIBS director, Dr. Michael Brown
· MXI founders and others discussing the history of the Institute
· The NAWM will honor Dr. Peter Frederick as an Honorary Alumnus
· A meet and greet with current MXIBS members and sign up to be a mentor

Malcolm X Institute Speaks: “Navigating a Career Path after Wabash: Unlocking Doors, Wandering Roads, Rolling Boulders”
A panel of MXI alumni, spanning various decades, discuss employment opportunities in their various career areas, obstacles they have encountered and how their Wabash experiences and education shaped their career decisions. Through relating their experiences, answering questions and discussion, panelists will emphasize to students that career paths are not necessarily straight and there can be changes in career goals, but a foundation in the Liberal Arts provides flexibility in achieving success.
