A WABASH Day team of ten tackled playground restoration and winter fuel preparation (AKA log splitting and stacking) at Third Phase, a Noblesville social services agency that works with women and families in crisis. Third Phase serves more than 15,000 Hamilton County residents every year, providing substance abuse counseling services, a safe place for families in distress, and an extensive food and clothing pantry.

15 yards of mulch (arranged by Jon Hunt ’92) were spread on the children’s play area, and hundreds of logs split to feed Third Phase’s wood burning stoves and furnaces that heat the 150+ year old facility (a former Underground Railroad station during the Civil War) through the winter. Participating were 4 decades of Wabash Men (plus a son and daughter), including:

After a productive day of making a difference for Third Phase, the crew retired to Jeff Eaton’s Barley Island Brewery for refreshments and lunch. Thanks to Jeff Eaton ’85 for supporting the first round!
