Admissions Office Honors Alumni Volunteers

Jim Twomey ’54 of Seattle, Washington, receives his Alumni Admissions Fellow Award from President Andy Ford.
The Wabash Admissions Office received a record 1,310 applications for admission for this school year and admitted roughly half of the applicants.

It marked a third straight record-setting year for the office, which tips its hat to Wabash alumni for the recent upward trend.

For the last three years, Wabash has leveraged its alumni to help introduce prospective students to the College. Last year, Wabash received over 1,000 alumni referrals, and almost half of this year's freshman matriculants came by way of alumni referrals.

That effort has not gone unnoticed by the National Association of Wabash Men Board of Directors. President Rick Fobes paid tribute to the enormous loyalty of the College's alumni volunteers by naming three men Alumni Admissions Fellows.

Receiving the honor were Jim Twomey ’54 of Seattle; John Panozzo ’89 of Denver; and Greg Jania ’93 of Chicago. All three men have been steadfast in attending college fairs, hosting "W Nights," and creating enthusiasm among their fellow alumni.
