Wabash Football Team Tops OWU; Remains Unbeaten

Junior tailback Chris Morris rushed for 211 yards to lead the 15th ranked Little Giants to a 27-7 win over Ohio Wesleyan in North Coast Athletic Conference play.

Wabash improved to 6-0 on the season with the victory, and now has a 13-game winning streak.

Morris, struggling with an injury, brook loose with a big second half to post his second 200-yard rushing performance of the season. Mooris joins Bill Kaiser ’87 (who had three 200-yard games in the 1985 season) and Stan Huntsman ’54 (who had two 200-yard games in 1952) as the only players in Wabash history to go over 200 yards twice in a season.

Morris now has 877 yards in six games this season and is closing in on 2,000 career yards.

A stiff, cool breeze blew through Hollett Little Giant Stadium on Youth Day. Wabash's defense—led by Stu Johnson (15 tackles) and Nate Boulais (14 tackles)—was red hot. Wabash intercepted four passes and recovered two of the Bishops' four fumbles.

That means every Little Giant player and coach will donate $6 to the FISH Foundation in the team's Turnover Hunger program. Each player and coach pledged to make a donation of $1 to the FISH Food Pantry for every turnover the team forces this season.

Just as important, fans remembered to bring donations of canned food items to the game as part of the team's season-long canned food drive.
