Frank R. Kolisek ’82

Frank, an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery, has served as president of OrthoIndy since 2005. OrthoIndy is one of the largest independent orthopaedic surgery groups in the Midwest.

He was awarded Top Doctor by Indianapolis Monthly in 2010 and 2011. He was the Arthritis Foundation’s “Man of the Year” in 2010. He was named among the top 70 hip surgeons and specialists in the Becker’s Review 2011 and also a top doctor in the US News and World Report’s 2011 list.

Frank has been very active in recruiting young men to Wabash College and has had many of his recruits successfully enroll and attend Wabash. He mentors Wabash students, has students shadow his practice and participates in the annual healthcare networking event.  Frank is often discussing college activities with the faculty and staff, always trying to make Wabash College a better place.

Frank’s two sons followed their father to Wabash College. His oldest son, Jake, graduated in 2011 and was a 2 year starter in football. His youngest son, Charlie, is currently a Sophomore at Wabash and plays football and baseball.  Frank resides in Indianapolis with his wife of 25 years, Lisa. He is a member Phi Delta Theta and was a chemistry major while at Wabash.

Frank is a member of the 1832 Society and is a financial supporter of the recent athletic facilities renovation with the baseball concourse being named The Kolisek Plaza.  He is convinced that a Wabash College education gives young men a leg up on the competition and he remains a strong supporter of the College.
