Scholarship Endowed for Jasper and Warren County Students

Crawfordsville, IN—Wabash College announces the Lawrence and Velma Dill Endowed Scholarship for all Jasper and Warren county high school students.

The scholarship was endowed by a $150,000 gift from G. Michael Dill, Wabash Class of 1971 and J. Mark Dill, Wabash Class of 1975, in tribute to the loving support of their parents, the late Lawrence and Velma Dill. The Dills established this gift so that young men from Jasper and Warren counties will have the same educational opportunities that were given to them.

Lawrence Dill was born and reared on a farm in Warren County. He worked as a farmer until 1967, when he relocated to Rensselaer, Ind. There he worked for Farm Credit Services until his retirement in 1983. Velma Dill is a native of the Montmorenci, Ind. area and graduated from Purdue University. She taught home economics and physical educaiton at Williamsport High School until 1967. Upon moving to Rensselaer, she taught at South Newton High School. From 1969 to 1975, Mrs. Dill taught at Rensselaer Middle School, retiring from teaching in 1975.
