Brass and Woodwind Ensembles Spring Concert 2010
A trumpeter's view of Salter Hall: Nathan Colglazier ’10.
"It was a wonderful concert in every way and speaks to the many virtues of music and the arts at Wabash," said President White. "Men with many different majors, including biology major and flutist Jason Allen ’10 who arranged the Gershwin piece, created high quality performance that stretched their minds, hearts, and talents."
Professor of Mathematics Robert Foote (left), who for decades has lent his playing skills to help anchor the Brass Ensemble, also directed The Brass Quintet's performance of Scott Joplin's "The Easy Winners." Here Professor Foote plays with fellow trumpeters Nathan Colglazier and Phillip McNelly ’10.
Before the concert, Director Vanessa Rogers asked the Woodwind Ensemble to step outside so she could photograph them. When Wabash Professor of Chemistry Emeritus and award-winning photographer John Zimmerman noticed their exodus, he followed the group out and asked Professor Rogers to pose with her ensemble for a keepsake from this final concert of her extraordinary and too-brief time at Wabash.
