2010 Baccalaureate
Reverend Terry Harter ’69, Pastor at First United Methodist Church in Champaign, Illinois, gave the Baccalaureate Sermon.
President Pat White and Reverend Terry Harter ’69 are the last members of the processional to enter the Pioneer Chapel for Baccalaureate.
Religion Professor Bill Cook ’66, who received an honorary degree, gave the invocation at Baccalaureate.
President White read from the Scriptures — Psalm 66: 8-20 and Acts 17:22-28.
Steve Bowen ’68, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, gave the morning prayers and prayed that the men of the Class of 2010 "go out and be good Wabash men."
Reverend Terry Harter delivers the Baccalaureate Sermon. He paused at the outset to suggest he would not be giving a lot of advice to the graduates. Then he quipped, "To offer such counsel is a waste of time: as far as we know, no graduate has ever taken advice thus given, and after forty years experience of sending people forth into the world from settings like this on a weekly basis, the best advice I can give anybody about going into the world is this: Don’t go. I’ve been out there. It’s a mess."
