Math Professor Peter Thompson oversaw the match, as well as moved Kaidanov 's pieces for him.
The match was shown on the overhead projector so the crowd could follow each player's moves.
Chen eventully withdrew, afterwards Kaidanov provided commentary for each move. Kaidanov said, "You're not supposed to give me a strong player, I'm playing blinfolded"
