Senior Advancement Officer and Coordinator of Volunteer Services Nancy Doemel is congratulated by President White as Dean of Advancement Joe Emmick praises her service to the College. 
Emmick said: "Many know Nancy as the College’s grant writer, but she was also one of the pioneers on our campus in off campus studies.
"And her career in grant writing here has been spectacular—over 330 successful grant proposals totaling nearly $30 million to help Wabash educate our students.
"Yet what we will miss most when Nancy retires are the intangibles—she has a wealth of institutional and advancement history that helps guide our decisions in almost everything we do."

Secretary to the Registrar Linda Wilson
Registrar and Professor of Chemistry Julie Olson said, "For the past 25 years, Linda has done a wonderful job of helping us maintain the College's academic records, the core of the college’s business.
"She has been a smiling face at the front desk of the registrar’s office, providing a wonderful blend of customer service and data entry and management for us.
"Her usual response to our many unusual requests for information has been, 'Let me just think about it for a while,' and soon enough she’d be down at my office with an explanation of where the information was and how we could get it.
"She’s been a teacher, helping me when I first became registrar, and we've always enjoyed her good nature, her companionship—she's helped make the registrar’s office a good place to be."

 

Biology Lab Manager Cindy Munford
Treves Professor of Biology Eric Wetzel said: In the 30 years since Cindy accepted the position of lab preparator for the biology department, what started as a position simply prepping labs has morphed into one that has included Cindy's overseeing the budgets of introductory biology courses, managing untold numbers of undergraduate lab assistants, caring for live plants, animals, and microbes, overseeing student projects, arranging for equipment service, and carrying out pilot experiments for us as we came up with new lab ideas.
"She has stepped up on various occasions to serve as a visiting instructor of biology, and she’s routinely worked for the common good of the department and the college by volunteering to help out on numerous assignments.
"Cindy’s level of detail and organization has made it easy for us to teach introductory biology lab. Yet at least as important as all of this,Cindy has been a devoted wife, mother, and daughter. In all of these things, Cindy, we thank you for your desire for things to work best for the students, the biology faculty, and the College."

Printing and Mail Office Manager Marcia Caldwell 
Wabash Chief Financial Officer Larry Griffith said: "Marcia started in 1982 in the stenographic office, and in 1992 she was promoted to manager of stenographic services. On one of her evaluations I read that during 1985, 1,001,800 sheets went through the printing press she managed. Director of Purchasing Tom Keedy once estimated that about $3.8 million has passed through the postage machine during Marcia's tenure."

Director of Student Activities and Assistant Football Coach Steve House 
Dean of Students Mike Raters said: "Described as “the go-to guy for all logistical matters, Steve has served the college for over 25 years in a variety of capacities, mostly as an Assistant Football Coach and Student Activities Director.
"Steve, you and Judy have been father and mother figures for generations of Wabash Men, beginning with the Beta Pledge class in the fall of 1986. Your love of Wabash students—their dreams, their highest imagination of themselves, their endeavors on and off the field, in and out of the classroom— has been most evident to all with whom you’ve worked and served. We thank you, we love you, and we will miss you."

 Accounts Payable Clerk Kathy Day
Wabash Chief Financial Officer Larry Griffith said, "Kathy’s good spirit and efficiency were the qualities I most noticed when I arrived in the business office four and a half years ago. What we’re finding out now that Kathy has retired is that many of you counted on Kathy to do many things for you—like get a check out fast, or cover an account. Kathy, a lot of people are sad you’re no longer here!
"I thank you for your years of service to the College, and, personally, I thank you for your friendship. Congratulations on your retirement."

IT Senior Systems Analyst Kathy Tymoczko 
Director of Information Technology Services Brad Weaver said: "Kathy's work isn't the sort that you'll read about on the home page of the College Web site, but it is essential to the College. She works with the database that stores all the College’s data to ensure that information is reliable and flexible for all the offices on campus.
"Kathy's work requires a complex mix of technical ability and business acumen and an in-depth understanding of the processes and procedures of every office on campus. This is work that Kathy excells at. She takes ownership and responsibility for these systems, is an excellent problem solver, and has an uncanny ability to anticipate and prevent bad things from happening to her data. 
"Thanks to Kathy, during her time at Wabash I haven't had to worry if the College's database will be up and working."

Comptroller John Culley ’66
Wabash Chief Financial Officer Larry Griffith said: "John was the chief accountant at Wabash for many years, then was promoted to comptroller in 1990. One of the things John has been for us is institutional memory—he can tell me why we do things, where this money came from, what fund most people haven't heard of is the source of funding. John has also been very involved in Phi Beta Kappa, he has worked with the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. They—like all of us—are going to miss him."
 

Senior Administrative Assistant to the President Carolyn Goff 
Wabash College President Pat White said, "“You served as senior administrative assistant to the president for 16 1/2 years. Over that time you worked with two presidents, but you served everyone at Wabash, caring for hundreds of alumni and trustees and friends of the college and,  especially, our students.
"All who interacted with you knew your kindness and generosity, your cool sense of reason, a tough commitment to doing things well and right, your politcal saavy, and that indefatigable energy all wrapped up in your enormous love for Wabash."

Professor of Biology and Director of Operations for the Center of Inquiry in the Liberal Arts Bill Doemel is congratulated by Dean of the College Gary Phillips and President Pat White. 
Dean of the College Gary Phillips said, "In his 40 plus year career at Wabash College, Bill Doemel has been a force and a face in shaping the direction and character of the College through innovative teaching and service. In these and so many other ways Bill Doemel has shown faculty, staff and students how to lead. We are the beneficiaries of his imagination, his dogged commitment to excellence and fairness, and his readiness to pitch in to do the hard work of realizing the promise of this College.
"He leads us by example. The College’s mission, he is never shy of reminding all of us, is about the student and the student’s learning experience; this is the College’s and his first priority."
