The football team, coaches and members of the traveling party at the Lincoln Memorial.
The football team was given a couple of hours to see what they could on the National Mall. Many went to the nearby Vietnam War memorial to see the famous 'Wall.'
Olmy Olmstead and several others stopped by one of the newer monuments honoring women who served in Vietnam.
The newest big monument is the World War Two Memorial near the Washington Monument at the end of the reflecting pool.
The WWII monument has two sides - one representing the Pacific theater and the other the Atlantic. There are 25 pillars on each side representing every state of the union.
.. a wider view.
The architecture of the new memorial still allows for this incredible view of the Lincoln Memorial while standing at the Washington Monument.
Sometimes people forget how far apart these special places are located. A reasonable walk from the Momument yields a nice shot of the White House.
In the opposite direction - and longer walk - is the Jefferson Memorial
The Korean Memorial is also newer to Washington Visitors.
The statues give visitors a real eerie feel of that type of warfare.
