Rev. John Sowers: ' As we age, sometimes we lament that we are a little slower, we have gained a few extra pounds that we can’t seem to get rid of. But taken in the right light, aging can be beauty, too, and can give us the opportunity to settle into ourselves a little more. We often spend this portion of our lives wishing we were smarter, faster, healthier, and yet there may come that moment when we recognize that in always wishing we were someone else we demean the nature of our creation. And the great work is trying to live in the fullness of our humanity while trying to recognize a spark of divinity in there somewhere.'
