The purpose of this page is to provide information about Research Integrity Programs and compliance requirements for faculty, staff, employees, and students affiliated with Wabash College who conduct research.
Federal laws governing the regulation of research require that institutions of higher education appoint a high-ranking official as the Institutional Official (IO). The Dean of the College is Wabash’s IO. By federal law, the IO bears ultimate responsibility for Wabash research programs and their regulatory boards, including:
- The Animal Welfare Committee which oversees the institution’s animal program, facilities, and procedures.
- The Institutional Review Board (IRB) which reviews and evaluates faculty and student campus research projects that involve the collection of information from human participants, including those originating as class projects or independent research.
Both committees include external professionals not affiliated with the College. Please refer to the IRB webpage for the complete policy and appropriate forms.
