WLAIP What to Bring | WLAIP
This list is meant to be only a guideline for what to bring to the Summer Institute. You may not need all the items listed. There may be items you wish to bring that have been omitted.
ITEMS COMMONLY NEEDED:
- Hiking clothes and shoes
- Summer clothes and shoes (including swimsuit)
- Sunglasses
- hangers
- towels and washcloths
- laundry bag
- athletic wear
- alarm clock or clock radio
- pens and a notebook
- **2 sets of sheets (extra-long twin)
- mattress pad
- pillow and pillowcases
- blankets (preferably, light blanket)
- power strips/surge protectors (the use of extension cords is prohibited)
- desk lamp
- back pack/book bag
- calculator
- pictures or posters & sticky-tack to hang them (i.e., light stuff to decorate your room, if you would like)
- envelopes and stamps
- common toiletries: soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.
ITEMS YOU MAY NEED:
- radio/MP3/CD player
- headphones
- tennis or racquetball racquet
- rainwear and umbrella
- small fan
- ball glove
- laptop/computer/tablet
- small rug
- camera
- reusable water bottle
WHAT NOT TO BRING
TVs, DVD players, or Video game systems (your dorm has a TV, and student mentors will be allowed to have video game systems, so you will be able to do some gaming during the month)
* Individual room sizes vary. The “typical” dormitory room sizes are: 10’5” X 9’2”
** Please note that our beds are not a standard twin size. Most measure 36”x80” (extra-long twin)
Residence hall rooms provide the following for each student: bed, dresser, wardrobe or closet, desk, chair
