Music Department computer facilities include the Computer Assisted Music Exploration Lab (CAMEL), a general-use computer lab facility with software for music notation and ear training, and Musical instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) input keyboards.
The Electronic Music Studio (EMS) includes a classroom equipped for teaching and learning electronic music at the introductory level. Electronic music has become less oriented toward peripheral devices and more focused on computer-based virtual environments. This classroom serves both as a work studio for students and as a base for teaching and learning that visually and sonically projects the virtual work environment into the classroom.
The EMS also includes a well-equipped, acoustically designed studio for advanced individual projects and instruction. The studio's design provides a high-standard audio environment for composition and production of electronic music, and serves as a base for one-on-one instruction at the advanced level.
